About this place
Inasa no Hama is a sandy beach in Taishacho, Izumo, Shimane Prefecture. It is a coast about 10 km from north to south, opening in a bow shape toward the west. It is also the setting of the Kuniyuzuri (land transfer) myth, and appears under names such as 'Inasa no Obama' (Kojiki) and 'Isasa no Obama' (Nihon Shoki). The coast continuing south from Inasa no Hama along the western Shimane Peninsula is called Sono no Nagahama, and in the 'Kunibiki myth' recorded in the Izumo no Kuni Fudoki it is said to be the rope that joined the Shimane Peninsula to Mount Sahime (Mount Sanbe).
