About this place
Ogoto Shrine (Ogoto Jinja, also read Okoto Jinja) is the name of shrines that have 'Ogoto' in their names. There are the following two shrines, both of which enshrine Imaoyo no Sukune, ancestor of the Ozuki clan, who governed Ogoto in Omi Province. Ogoto Shrine (Ogoto Jinja) - Ogoto, Otsu, Shiga Okoto Shrine (Okoto Jinja) - Mibu, Shimotsuga District, Tochigi: The Mibu clan, who claimed descent from the Ozuki clan, invited the deity from the above Ogoto Shrine and renamed it.
