One of the three great Daishi temples of eastern Japan, crowded at new year for prayers against misfortune.
About this place
Soshuji is a Tendai-sect temple in Sano, Tochigi. Its mountain name is 'Kasugaokayama', and its full temple name is 'Kasugaokayama Tenborin-in Soshukanji'. It is generally known by the popular name Sano Yakuyoke Daishi (Sano Evil-Warding Daishi). It is widely known because many TV commercials are broadcast around the Kanto region at the turn of the year.
