About this place
Toyokawa Inari Tokyo Betsuin is a temple of the Soto school in Moto-Akasaka, Minato, Tokyo. It is the only directly managed branch temple (detached precinct) of Toyokawa Inari Myogonji (Toyokawa, Aichi Prefecture). It originates from Ooka Echizen-no-kami Tadasuke, who invited the deity Dakini-ten from Toyokawa Inari and enshrined it at his own residence as a household Inari shrine. The Ooka family is said to have worshipped Toyokawa Inari since their Mikawa days, and it is said that in the time of Echizen-no-kami, Dakini-ten was invited and enshrined at the lower residence in Edo.
