About this place
Shinshu Otani-ha Inami Betsuin Zuisenji is a temple of the Shinshu Otani-ha in Inami, Nanto, Toyama. It is a branch temple of that sect, with the Shinshu Honbyo (Higashi Honganji) as its head temple. It is abbreviated as Inami Betsuin or Zuisenji. Its mountain name is 'Sankokusan'. In the Sengoku period it was a stronghold of the Etchu Ikko-ikki, and its temple complex is surrounded by solid stone walls. The carvings on the buildings of Zuisenji were all made by the Inami carving craftsmen of Inami, Nanto, where the wood-carving industry flourishes.
