About this place
The National Fireworks Competition (Zenkoku Hanabi Kyogi Taikai) is a fireworks festival held at the Omono River Riverbed Sports Park in Daisen, Akita Prefecture, on the last Saturday of August every year. Because the host city Daisen was formerly Omagari, it is generally known as 'Omagari no Hanabi.' It is regarded as one of 'Japan's Three Great Fireworks Festivals' and one of 'Japan's Three Great Competition Fireworks Festivals.'
