About this place
An observatory at the fifth station of Mount Chokai in Akita. Views of Tobishima floating in the Sea of Japan and of the Oga Peninsula, and the Naso Gorge below, spread out. There are two observatories, one next to the car park and one a few minutes up the trail (a paved road). Nearby are Inekura Sanso, where you can eat and shop, and the Hokodate Visitor Center, where you can learn how Mount Chokai was formed.
