About this place
Akita Arts Theater Mirhus is a multipurpose hall in Senshu Meitokucho, Akita, Akita Prefecture. It was developed jointly by Akita Prefecture and Akita City as a new cultural facility on the site of the Akita Prefectural Citizens' Hall, replacing the aging Akita Prefectural Citizens' Hall (opened 1961) and Akita City Cultural Hall (opened 1980). The total project cost was about 25.4 billion yen. With the new facility, the Akita Prefectural Citizens' Hall closed in 2018, and the Akita City Cultural Hall closed on 30 September 2022.
