About this place
Yokokan Garden is a Japanese garden (daimyo garden) in 3-chome Hoei, Fukui, Fukui Prefecture. It is designated a national Place of Scenic Beauty. Yokokan Garden is in the center of Fukui, about 400 meters north of the main enclosure of Fukui Castle. In 1922 (Taisho 11), Hoei Elementary School was built on the grounds. The building was destroyed by fire in the Fukui air raid of 19 July 1945 (Showa 20).
