Overview
A swimming beach known for fine sand that glitters white.
About this place
Suisho-hama Beach is a bathing beach on Wakasa Bay in Mihama, Mikata District, Fukui Prefecture. Located in the center of the west side of the Tsuruga Peninsula, from the sandy beach facing Wakasa Bay the Tsunegami Peninsula can be seen in full. The sand is paved with coarse-grained round stones, giving the illusion of walking on fine crystals. The sea is shallow with high clarity, and it is known as one of the finest beaches in the Hokuriku region. For these reasons it has also been selected as one of Japan's 88 Sandy Beaches. It is managed by the local Takenami district.
