About this place
Dangoan is a restaurant located in Akizuki, Asakura, Fukuoka. Founded in 1887 (Meiji 20). It originally operated as a mountain-pass teahouse serving travelers crossing the pass on the Akizuki Highway, but today it operates as a sweets shop and a place to cool off. Beside the mountain stream there are about 30 cooling platforms, each about six tatami mats in size, and guests pay a fee to reserve a platform for their own use.
