A gorge formed by damming the Kiso River, named in 1920 by the geographer Shigetaka Shiga.
About this place
A gorge in Oi-cho, Ena, Gifu Prefecture. An artificial lake formed about 100 years ago when the Kiso River was dammed by the Oi Dam, it was named Enakyo in Taisho 9 by the geographer Shiga Shigetaka. Besides the scenery of strange rocks on both banks, about 200 cherry trees at Sazanami Hiroba can be seen in spring. Sightseeing boats also run.
