About this place
Autumn leaves seen from the Shin-Hotaka Ropeway in the Okuhida Onsen-go in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture. They begin to change color around the summit station around late September and gradually spread down toward the base. The red of maples and the yellow of beech and Japanese oak are like a carpet, and when conditions are right you can see the Northern Alps, topped with the first snow, against a deep blue sky together with the autumn leaves.
