About this place

Sogi-sui is a spring in Honmachi, Hachiman-cho, Gujo, Gifu Prefecture. It is located near the confluence of the Kodara River and the Yoshida River. It is also called Hakuun-sui, and in 1985 (Showa 60) it was designated as Sogi-sui (Hakuun-sui), the first of Japan's 100 Exquisite and Well-Conserved Waters. It was also designated a Gifu Prefecture historic site in 1974 (Showa 49). Also, the former Hachiman Town of Gujo has been selected as one of Japan's 100 Water Villages as a town of exchange culture in harmony between people and nature, and Sogi-sui is one of its famous water spots.
