Overview
Megaliths at Kanayama in Gero, thought to have been used to measure the calendar by the fall of sunlight.
About this place
An experience tour around the megalith group of the Iwaya Iwakage ruins, where huge rocks are concentrated, in Kaneyama-cho, Gero, Gifu Prefecture. The megaliths are thought to have been used to observe the sun and for seasons and calendars. Although not sufficiently proven astronomically or archaeologically, it is considered a place where you can feel the romance of the ancients.
