About this place
Ajigaura Beach (Ajigaura Coast) is a beach in Ajigaura-cho, Hitachinaka, Ibaraki Prefecture. It is a beach made up of a sandy shore 1.5 km long from north to south, and draws the next largest number of bathers in Ibaraki Prefecture after Oarai Sun Beach, which lies about 6 km south in a straight line (at the northern end of Kashima-nada). There are no conspicuous resort facilities or large hotels, but Hitachi Seaside Park, the Oarai Aquarium and the Nakaminato Fishing Port Market are all within 30 minutes by car.
