About this place
Osugi Shrine is a shrine in Aba, Inashiki, Ibaraki Prefecture. Because of its lavish shrine buildings, it is nicknamed the Nikko Toshogu of Ibaraki. It is affectionately known as Anba-sama. Its old names include Osugi Daimyojin, Osugi Daigongen and Imamiya Osugi Daimyojin. Its former shrine rank was gosha (village shrine). It is now a Beppyo shrine designated by the Association of Shinto Shrines. It is the head shrine of about 670 Osugi shrines found in the Kanto and Tohoku regions. It has been selected as one of the Ibaraki Hyakkei (100 Views of Ibaraki) as the Osugi Shrine of Aba.
