A shrine counted among Japan's three great Inari. A chrysanthemum festival is held before the gate, and inarizushi shops line the approach.
About this place
One of Japan's Three Great Inari shrines, in Kasama. The enshrined deity is Ukanomitama no Kami, who is also a guardian of industry and a deity protecting against fire. Founded in Hakuchi 2 (651), it has 3.5 million visitors a year. Two wisteria vines, "Yae no Fuji" and "O-Fuji," usually bloom in early May.
