About this place
A park on Mt. Shiroyama, a small mountain 107 m above sea level in the center of Kagoshima City. Temperate and subtropical plants such as large camphor trees, ferns and sangoju grow wild, and you can stroll along the trails. From the observation deck you can see Sakurajima, Kinko Bay and the Kagoshima cityscape, and it is also known for its night view. The site of the last fierce battle of the Satsuma Rebellion, it has historic sites such as Saigo's cave and the place where Saigo died.
