Sunflower fields along the Sagami River in Zama, some 550,000 flowers in summer.
About this place
One of the largest sunflower fields in the Tokyo metropolitan area, in Zama, Kanagawa Prefecture. About 550,000 sunflowers spread across the whole field, and it is popular as a photo spot. They are usually at their best from early to mid-August, and the Zama City Sunflower Festival is held around the Obon period, with food stalls, sales of cut flowers and farm produce, and ayu catching by hand. The Yotsuya site, away from the Zama site, can also be viewed.
