About this place
Verny Park is a municipal urban park (neighborhood park) in Shioiri-cho, Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is open every day of the year. The name comes from Leonce Verny, a French engineer who guided the construction of the Yokosuka Arsenal and other modern facilities and supported Japan's modernization. It is a park that reopened in 2001 (Heisei 13) after renovating the Rinkai Park, opened in 1946 (Showa 21), in the style of a French garden. The seaside walkway has a boardwalk and benches.
