A shore in Hayama, with Mount Fuji lined up beyond the jutting cape.
About this place
Chojagasaki is a cape on the border between Yokosuka and Hayama, Kanagawa Prefecture. The views of Chojagasaki and Mount Fuji, and its evening scenery, are beautiful, and it is one of the Eight Views of the Miura Peninsula and the 50 Scenic Spots of Kanagawa. The Zushi Formation of the Miura Group, about 4 to 7 million years old, is exposed. It is now off limits because of the danger of falling rocks, but its whole form can be seen from a distance. In the past it was called Ogasaki. On the Hayama side is Chojagasaki Beach, which bustles in summer as the Chojagasaki-Ohama Beach.
