About this place
A shopping street in Motomachi, Naka Ward, Yokohama. It began as a gathering of shops for foreigners who lived in the foreign settlement at the opening of the port. It is regarded as the birthplace of Hamatora, the traditional-style fashion of the 1970s and 1980s. Long-established shops, general stores and cafes line the street, which is about 600 m long, and Charming Sales are held every February and September.
