About this place
Shonandaira is a place name referring to the area around the summit of Awataruyama, about 180 m high, on the border of Hiratsuka and Oiso in Kanagawa Prefecture. The area has been developed as Komayama Park, a scenic park. Locally it was once called Senjojiki, but when it was developed as a park it came to be called Shonandaira. It is a corner of the ridge of hills that continues through Komayama and Sengenyama, and is part of Komayama Park.
