About this place
Kumamoto Port (English: Port of Kumamoto) is a port in Shinko, Nishi Ward, Kumamoto, Kumamoto Prefecture. It functions as the sea gateway of the Kumamoto metropolitan area and is also a Kumamoto Umi no Eki. It has been developed as a logistics port directly connected to the Kumamoto metropolitan area as an artificial island, off the Kumaaki Coast between the Shira River and the Midori River, which run through the center of Kumamoto Prefecture and flow into the Ariake Sea. All port facilities are on the artificial island.
