About this place
A water source in the Aso area of Kumamoto Prefecture, selected as one of the 100 Famous Waters by the Ministry of the Environment. Its appeal is the magnificent scenery surrounded by trees over 200 years old. With an abundant flow of 30 tons per minute, water gushes out of the spring site. It has long been used for domestic and agricultural water and in recent years has also become raw water for drinking water.
