About this place
An observation point in the Aso area of Kumamoto Prefecture. A vast grassland of 785,000 square meters and a pond said to have formed from collected rainwater create a natural contrast. To the east you can see the smoke of Mt. Nakadake in Aso, and to the north Komezuka and the rural scenery of the Aso Valley. On clear days you can see west from Kumamoto City to Mt. Unzen Fugen.
