About this place
Sakitsu Village is the collective name for the Sakitsu area of Kawaura-cho, Amakusa, Kumamoto Prefecture, known as a village of hidden Christians facing Yokaku Bay. It has been selected as an Important Cultural Landscape under the Law for the Protection of Cultural Properties under the name 'Cultural Landscape of Sakitsu and Imatomi in Amakusa,' and also received a Good Design Award in fiscal 2022.
