Overview
A hall deep on Mount Kurama, on a slope where cedar roots run over the ground.
About this place
The Okunoin Maoden of Kurama-dera in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto. It stands in a mystical atmosphere where old cedars grow thick and huge cedar roots creep along the ground. It enshrines Goho Maoson, said to have flown in from Venus 6.5 million years ago. From Kurama-dera there is a walking course through to Kifune Shrine, taking about 3 hours.
