About this place
The Asahi Group Oyamazaki Villa Museum of Art is a Kyoto Prefecture-registered museum in Oyamazaki, Otokuni District, Kyoto Prefecture. It is operated by the Asahi Group Arts Foundation (public interest incorporated foundation). It is located on the slope of Mt. Tenno on the border between Osaka and Kyoto prefectures. It restored and refurbished an English-style villa that the businessman Shotaro Kaga designed himself in the early Showa period, including the building as well as the garden, roads, furniture and furnishings, and opened as a museum in 1996 (Heisei 8).
