About this place
Okage Yokocho is a tourist attraction in front of the Kotai Jingu (Naiku) of Ise Grand Shrine in Ise, Mie Prefecture. It recreates the townscape of the torii-mae town (town in front of the shrine gate) of the late Edo to early Meiji period, when Okage-mairi (the Ise pilgrimage) drew crowds. It is operated by Ise Fuku Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Akafuku Co., Ltd., which makes and sells the Ise specialty Akafuku mochi. Located in the middle of Oharai-machi, it is a representative tourist spot of Ise-Shima.
