Pears grown in the Hisai district of Tsu, Mie. A leading production area in the prefecture, the pears are sold at direct-sales shops along main roads and elsewhere. The flesh is soft, sweet, and juicy, and the best liked are Kosui in mid to late August and Hosui in early September. There are also sightseeing farms where you can pick pears.
