Overview
The only wooden octagonal three-storey pagoda in Japan, and the first building in Nagano to be named a national treasure.
About this place
A wooden octagonal three-story pagoda at Anraku-ji Temple in Ueda. The roof looks four-tiered, but because the lowest level is an eave called mokoshi, it is counted as a three-story pagoda. A wooden octagonal pagoda is a rare structure found only here in the whole country, and it was the first in Nagano Prefecture to be designated a National Treasure.
