About this place
A hot spring area in Nagiso, Nagano Prefecture. The first full-scale hot spring successfully tapped in the Nagiso area, it is a recirculating natural hot spring, where rain falling on Mt. Nagiso at the southern end of the Central Alps seeps into the ground over many years and wells up. There are two wells, both welling up from a depth of 1,500 m. The spring is a simple alkaline spring, extremely alkaline yet mellow.
