About this place
A park in Kawakami Village, Yoshino District, a scenic spot that appears in the Manyoshu. Somei Yoshino, weeping cherry, and double-flowered cherry bloom in spring, children play in the river in summer, and the autumn leaves are splendid in autumn. From the legend that a dragonfly bit to death the horsefly that had bitten Emperor Yuryaku's arm, the Dragonfly Falls at the back of the park got its name. At the foot of the waterfall bridge there is a poem monument to Takarai Kikaku.
