About this place
A scenic coastline 11 km long from Samukawa to Hamashinbo in Murakami, Niigata Prefecture. On the crystal-clear blue sea, strange rocks, reefs and caves formed by erosion from the rough waves of the Sea of Japan continue along the coast, and it is a nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty and Natural Monument. A representative sight is Meganeiwa (Spectacle Rock), and on the sightseeing boat you can feed the seagulls.
