About this place
A botanical garden in Miyamoto-cho, Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture, opened on March 14, 2026. It includes no alpine plants, alien plants or horticultural plants at all, and was built by using the snow-country satoyama as it is, valuing natural vegetation. There are about 850 species of plants in the garden; in spring you can view snow camellias, Japanese snow-split flowers and dogtooth violets, and in summer you can see fireflies.
