About this place
Echigo Hillside National Government Park is a national government park in Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture. It is the only national government park in the Hokuriku region. It has also been selected as one of the Echigo Nagaoka Hyakkei (100 Views). It was developed by the Echigo Hillside National Government Park Office of the Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and is managed by the Echigo Park Management Center. It was a mountain opened up on a large scale for the national Nagaoka New Town development, but because of poor transport and the collapse of the bubble economy the new town did not sell, and most of it remained.
