Overview
A waterfall in Kokonoe that falls in two stages, with sliding over the rock above it in summer.
About this place
A waterfall in Kokonoe, Oita Prefecture. A two-tier fall with a drop of 26 m and a width of 40 m, formed when the Chikushi lava plateau was eroded. It is said that Lanxi Daolong, who came to Japan from Southern Song in the Kamakura period, named it because it resembled Longmen Falls in Henan. A famous spot for fresh greenery and autumn leaves, the waterfall sliding has been discontinued because part of the cliff collapsed.
