About this place
Stone Buddhas in Ogata, Bungoono, Oita Prefecture. Three figures, Amida Nyorai, Shaka Nyorai and Yakushi Nyorai, are lined up from the right, carved as equals rather than in a triad form. The skin is painted in ocher and the robes in vermilion and black, and a double halo is carved out of the rock wall behind them.
