Overview
A landscape in Bungo-ono made by the rock face and the river.
About this place
Iwato, a great cliff 50 m high and 500 m long in Kiyokawa, Bungoono, Oita Prefecture, where the main stream of the Ono River meets the Okudake River. The columnar jointing that characterizes the Oita Bungoono Geopark can be clearly seen, and a tunnel dug in the rock wall connects to an iron bridge crossing the river, so many railway fans visit to photograph trains appearing as if bursting out.
