About this place
Ojigatake (Ojigadake) is a mountain ridge in southern Okayama Prefecture, on the border of Tamano and Kojima, Kurashiki, on the Kojima Peninsula. The highest peak is Mt. Shinwari (elevation 233.9 m). A mountain with huge, strange rocks standing in rows rising steeply from the coast, it is within Setonaikai National Park and was also selected among Okayama's Top 100 Natural Sites. You can see the Seto Ohashi Bridge and the mountains of Shikoku, and it is also known as a first-sunrise spot. The mountain name comes from a tradition that eight princes born of a Baekje princess once lived there.
