About this place
A cave in Maniwa, Okayama, known as the oldest limestone cave in Japan to appear in documents, recorded in the Nihon Sandai Jitsuroku. Of its total length of about 800 m, about 300 m is open as a tourist cave, with the Five-Story Pagoda (a 22-tier stalactite) and the Fuji in the Cave (a giant stalagmite 3 m high and 5 m in diameter). The temperature inside is 9 degrees all year round; fees are 800 yen for adults, 500 yen for junior and senior high school students, and 350 yen for children.
