Overview
A stone-paved lane in Minami, Osaka, with the water-splashed Fudo image and long-established restaurants.
About this place
An atmospheric alley in the middle of Osaka's Minami entertainment district. Down a narrow lane of the Sennichimae shopping street is a wooden sign for Hozenji Yokocho, and at the end of the stone pavement stands the Mizukake Fudo. Because many people pour water over it with a ladle, it is always covered in green moss. In front of Hozenji, where worshippers have never stopped coming since the Meiji period, teahouses and restaurants naturally appeared and it became a pleasure district.
