Overview
An okonomiyaki restaurant founded in 1953, with its home in Namba.
About this place
Botejyu is the name of a chain of okonomiyaki restaurants. Currently two companies use the name: 'Botejyu Group' and 'Osaka Botejyu.' The shop name comes from the rhythm of flipping okonomiyaki with a 'bote' and grilling it with a 'jyu.' It originated from the okonomiyaki shop 'Botejyu', opened in June 1946 (Showa 21) by Eikichi Nishino and his wife in Tamade, Nishinari Ward, Osaka. Although called a shop, it was only three tables set out under the eaves of their home, of a scale close to a food stall.
