Overview
First raised in the Kan'ei era by Tadakatsu Sakai, lord of Kawagoe Castle. The present belfry was rebuilt the year after the great Meiji fire. It rings four times a day.

Time Bell Tower (Japanese: 時の鐘; Toki no Kane) is a bell tower built in the center of Kawagoe, Japan. It is considered the symbol of the city.
