About this place
Yoshihime Shrine is a shrine in Konan, Shiga Prefecture. It is an Engishiki-listed shrine (shikinaisha), with the former shrine rank of village shrine. It has a spring in front of the shrine said to be effective against all illnesses. Also, the wooden komainu (guardian dogs) are said to have been made in the Nanbokucho period. * It is paired with Yoshimiko Shrine, and on the festival day portable shrines come out of both shrines. This is called the 'Ishibe Reitaisai.' The date of its founding is unknown, but it is regarded as a descendant shrine of Ishibe Kashiokami Shrine, which, like Yoshimiko Shrine, is an Engishiki-listed shrine.
