About this place
A colony of rabbit-ear irises at Hiraike, in a valley beyond Mt. Hakodate in Takashima. Pale purple flowers bloom usually from late May to early June. The irises are said to number 10,000, and their deep purple contrasts beautifully with the green of the rain-wet mountain. About a 15-minute walk from Villa Dest Imazu.
