About this place
A shrine north of Nishiki Station on the Keihan Ishiyama-Sakamoto Line in Otsu. Its founding date is unknown, and the deities include Hikoimasu no Miko along with Emperor Tenji, Toyotamahiko no Mikoto, and Watatsumi no Kami. The four divine statues date from the Heian and Kamakura periods and are designated Important Cultural Properties together with the main hall, a Kamakura-period shrine building.
