About this place
A memorial hall in Toyosato, Shiga. It opens the main family house of the first Ito Chubei, founder of Marubeni and Itochu Corporation. Chubei was born in 1842 into the Benicho family, a textile retailer, and held fast to his conviction that the country must be opened through the expansion of trade.
